Vacant Properties in Canalones, Uruguay

In Canelones, 35,000 of the 128,000 lots with buildings are listed as vacant.
This was detected during the second phase of the Uruguay real estate Census, based on a survey using the aerial photographs department.

According to El Pais the director of Information and Regulatory soils in the community, Fernando Lema, said to tidy up these areas involve adjustments in taxes, mainly property taxes.

But the official stressed that these changes will be implemented during the remainder of this municipal (city’s) administration.
