Uruguay Real Estate for Sale

Every so often a misguided expat or two asks me about where to find real estate, farms, homes or apartments that are for sale.

Even though there is no official MLS, there are a few sources online for browsing properties for sale or rent throughout Uruguay. It seems like most of the real estate agents pull from the same database (at least those that post current listings on their sites).

You can search for Montevideo, Colonia, Maldonado (Punta del Este), Atlantida, Rocha, or any of the popular locations inland as well.

www.buscandocasa.com.uy is probably the most complete, however you ca find similar listings on casas.com.uy as well. El Gallito (el pais’s online paper also has listings, as does mercadolibre.com.uy — although the listings can be more “unique”

My choice when browsing Uruguay real estate for sale however is casas.com.uy. It tends to have the fastest loading pages and some nice presentation and search parameters.

Search and sort by neighborhood barrio city or region price range bedrooms or baths. The photos are usually not as staged as you’ll see in the US but that’s part of the charm right? Good luck with your property search.
