Uruguay Real Estate Sites

I wanted to take a minute to highlight some sites about Uruguay real estate that I use when surfing around.

http://www.casas.com.uy

Casas is a nice site with an overview of houses for sale and rent, long term and short term. There are plenty of sorts you can use to filter by region or neighborhood, rooms, baths, price (of course), and a host of other criteria.

Pictures are available for most homes, but keep in mind that often a view from the outside is not included in the photos as strange as that sounds. Keep in mind that all descriptions, etc are in Spanish, and some of the vocab and real estate centric abbreviations can get confusing for the uninitiated.

This is the same thing as casas but for apartments (duh) Same exists and also details like the floor of the apartment and monthly common fees are listed as ‘gastos comunes’

http://www.chacras.com.uy

This is basically the same only for Uruguay farm land. Chacras as defined in hectares, something like 2.2 acres.

All in all, this site is pretty lame for searching properties but has a nice writeup of different communities where expats may consider a property, and some expat interviews in English.

This site is also in English. Only 22 properties for sale, but interesting nonetheless as it tries to promote itself as a portal of sorts for international property listings. It also has some properties for rent from time to time.
